Sad News From A Texas Area College Campus

A shooting has taken place at Lone Star College in Texas. Two people are believed to have been shot. Witness heard five gun shots and then havoc broke out immediately following the gun shots. Reports are continually developing and being updated; please remember the Texas area today. Also, please feel free to chime in with any thoughts about how we can improve safety for students, staff, faculty, and visitors on all college campuses. I remember my days at Wayne State University, and always having the wisdom to walk with a classmate or in a crowd. I never felt unsafe except for leaving some night classes after dark, and having to walk to my car in the parking lot or parking structure; which I admit were always well lit. In addition, the Wayne State University Police are always around. They were sometimes an irritant about parking tickets and making Michigan left turns, but otherwise always made me feel safe.
